KSAN Station

Hi, Great To Meet You Also. Yes, You've Taking Me Back In Time, Back To Be Exact 1953, When I First Started Listening To A Couple Of Black Radio Stations, Out Of Oakland And San Francisco, One Of Them Was KSAN, Can't Remember The Call Letters Of The Other One Though. If I Remember Right Their Transformers Were About 10,000 Watts And Their Signal Was Hard To Pickup In San Jose Especially At Night. They Played What We Called Rhythm & Blues, The Doo Woop, Early Rock n' Roll, And Rockabilly Of Today.

To Me The Rock n' Roll Era Started With The Title Song of Blackboard Jungle, And That Was Bill Haley's "Rock Around The Clock". Until Then The White Stations Did Not Play Any Of The Black Music. Yes, Life Was Simple And Yes We Were Young (16 yrs old) And Happy. Yes, Life Is An Emotional Rollercoaster I Get On Every Time I Hear A Long 'Forgotten' Song That Reminds Me Of My Highschool Love, And My Wife; Even Though She Was Not My Highschool Love. The Wutiz Club (Youth Center) That We All Would Go On Wednesday And Friday Nights, The Drive-in Diners, Jukeboxes and Drive-in Movies. Great Music, I'll Be Back. I'll Mark Your Station So I Can Go Back To My Future Again. What I Really Started To Write You For Was A Title Of A Song That I Heard On One Of The Two Stations I Mentioned. I Tape Recorded It Back In 54 - 55. I Still have The Tapes, But I Never Wrote The Title Down, And I've Tried To Find It..... It's Been So Many Years, Those Tapes Are Now Impossible To Play. Sure Wish I Would Have Re-recorded Them. There Was Not Much To The Song, But It's One I Can't Get Out of My Mind. Most of The Lyrics Are "Ride Jockey Ride, Ride Jockey Ride." And That's All I Can Remember. If You Can Help This Young Old Man It Sure Would Be Appreciated. Thank you,

Bob Castaneda Class of 1955
