Your music is totally awesome. How can I get a copy of your programs?
I love the way you've put songs together. I went to High School in New
Jersey during the early 60's. I'm hearing music I never heard before.
Gee..sometimes it makes me cry. I miss all the wonderful music that used
to be. I wanna go to Doo-Wop Heaven when I die. I know you will be
there.
Love from a fan,
Louise Radcliffe - Salt Lake City

My name is Carrie, I'm 56, from Philly and live in South Jersey. I just listened to your program, which is terrific. However, you played Seven Wonders Of The World..you had it listed as the Keytones. I have the record and it says the Keynotes. Just thought I should tell you.
|
|
Hello Carrie!
Thank you for listening to my station!
In my Doo-wop Bible "Doo-wop, The forgotten third of Rock & Roll" by Tony Gribin & Matt Schiff there's only a mention of the song "Seven Wonders of the World" by the Keytones. It's the reissue of their first single that was called "Wonder of the World" on the Old Town label (Old Town 1041) both in the same year (1957).
Unfortunately I've never heard of a Keynotes' version.
Searching for it at http://www.allmusic.com I could only find the Keytones version.
I guess you're wrong about that one Carrie.
Have fun.

Hey my friend how are you doing? Just wanted say today you played some killer stuff, you always do, but today was extra special. Let me know if I can tell you about a few songs you may not be aware of. You have played many songs I never heard and they are great.
Vinnie

Hi there Vinnie!
I'm doing great!
And as you may have noticed, my station is doing well too. We are finally picking up more and more listeners after the drop from 38.000 to 12.000 listening hours we had in august 2003 when itunes stopped featuring Live365 stations. If you can let me know about songs that are missing from my broadcast I certainly would appreciate it. I welcome any input from listeners.
Thanks.

Is there a way to have a CD burned with some of my favorites (many of which are quite obscure) from Doo Wop Jukebox gold? is it possible and what would it cost?
|
|
Hi Wayne,
Thank you for listening to DooWop Jukebox Gold!
I'm sorry but we do not issue CD's or share songs.
I'ts one of the rules at Live365.com that we have to stick by,
otherwise internet radio would become very illegal very fast.
However, the internet offers a tremendous amount of resources
so try your luck at cdbbq.com to get original singles with a copy on CD, or search for albums at http://www.amazon.com.
Have Fun! GM

Hi , My name is Charlie I just want to tell you how much I enjoy listening
to your station. I have it as my favorite on my presets.Every once in a
while I hear a song that I haven't heard. DOO WOP LOVERS by the Crystalairs
is one of them. If that song is available I would appreciate it if you could
tell me where to get it. I am from the Boston area and no one that I know
has heard of it. Thanks, keep
up the great work........... Charlie
|
|
Hi Charlie!
Thank you for listening to Doo-Wop Jukebox Gold!
The Crystalairs are a German doo-wop group and this is their website: http://www.crystalairs.de
Their albums are available in the US. Just look at http://www.allmusic.com
and search for Crystalairs. Their album "Strange World" will pop-up which has some more great songs on it like: "Elevator of Love" and "Never Such Love". At Amazon.com you'll probably find more.
Once again, thanks for listening to DWJBG and check out our website, it will be totally revamped in the next few weeks!

I know that the PASTELS only had two fairly popular songs " Been So Long & So Far Away". I do not believe they had an album. Big Dee Irwin may have had an album with these cuts on it. I would really love to hear these songs on your broadcast from time to time. Thanks,
Joe

Bruce Blanchard - Hi. Thu, 23 October 2003 4:49:25 PM Eastern Daylight Time

Hi;
I love your site. Growing up in Massachusetts in the 50's and 60's I would
listen to all the distance stations to hear the deferent music they played as compared to the local stations at that time. Your site takes me back to that time. I record two hours each day and play it back in my car on the way to and from work every day. (I have an hours drive each way) They sure don't play this format on any of the stations here on the DELMARVA Peninsula where I moved to 19 years ago.
As it has turned out my love for radio has turned into my lives career.
I am now in my 43rd year in broad- casting. I am currently the Director
of Engineering for WSCL FM Salisbury MD public radio at Salisbury Univ. in
Salisbury Maryland.
One thing I especially enjoy is that I am hearing some songs and artists
I have never heard before. To me they are "new" 50's Doo Wop.
The Time Tones are one such group. I really like MY LOVE for some reason I haven't heard it in weeks, perhaps I'm missing it in the rotation. If you can find anything else by them I would like to hear it. I like PRETTY PRETTY GIRL as well.
Thank you for all the enjoyment:
keep the tunes coming. Bruce Blanchard

Thanks Bruce, great to hear from you! Btw "My Love" is in my playlist.

"JRock" - HI ALL Fri, 10 October 2003 4:36:56 PM Eastern Daylight Time
|
|
you are doing a great job.
we are thinking of getting a station ourselves.
we are a new web site (2 weeks old) www.cjrock.co.uk based in oxford and trying to give some of the great new bands coming out at the moment a chance and a push in the right direction, as you can imagine it is quite hard to get noticed and we were wondering if you could give us a mention on your rock show and try to bring some visitors our way.
and maybe oneday you will be playing some of our bands on your show.
anyway thx a million and even if you don't mention us plz take a look at our site!!
thx again. J-Rock
