Andras Millward - Doo Wop Jukebox Gold Play list Thu, 29 May 2003 3:30 EST

Hi GM. Many thanks for that piece of code - I'll write a web page to pop on my desktop. (I just haven't had the time to do a website of my own, too many competing things!)
Best wishes. Andras

Andras Millward - Doo Wop Jukebox Gold Play list Thu, 22 May 2003 14:11 EST
|
|
Hi there!
I listen to your station through Apple iTunes - I love it! Having previously only been familiar with the Belmonts, it's amazing to listen to so many different doo wop artists.
Is there any where else I can pick up your "now playing" playlist other than on Live 365? That site just doesn't get on with my Mac and it loads at a crawl, so logging in to get the playlist up can take me up to ten minutes on dial-up.
I'd appreciate any help, as I'm enjolying discovering doo-wop. (Any suggestions for authoritative books or websites on the style would be really appreciated too!)
Many thanks
Best wishes
Andras

Hi Andras!
Thank you for listening to Doo-Wop Jukebox Gold!
Unfortunately Live365 has blocked direct linking some months ago, but you can create a new web page and put this entire code into it:
This will generate the real time playlist and the bonus is that no login is required and you get no pop ups. Feel free to put this code on any non-commercial website. Older browsers and lower versions of Netscape however do not support iframes. Visitors with these browsers can still open the full size player by hitting the "listen" link.
If you have a non-commercial website try joining our webring. It will provide you with a banner that, when clicked, will start the player window and audiostream without the hassle of going to live365 first.
Check out our Webring here.
Have fun! GM

Barry Reisman - In my car? Tue, 13 May 2003 14:59 EST
|
|
I live near Seattle and the radio here sucks. Is there any way to receive
your wonderful station in my car.
p.s. I own a CD shop and sell lots of doo-wop! Thanks, Barry Reisman
|
|
Hi Barry!
Thank you for listening to my station!
I don't know about receiving internet radio in your car. My station is non-terrestrial, but who knows, it might be possible perhaps in the not so far future? Some cell-phones do have internet capability but I don't think that's an option. Creating your own Jukebox using a Car CD-player with a bunch of your CD's or buying a MP3 player is what I can recommend. Have fun.
GM Now you can get your own custom branded Real Jukebox skin with your fav. radio stations and websites built-in for only $35.
Put it on your website for your visitors to download and they keep on coming back! Try & See it here.

Musicman - Drifters song Tue, 29 Apr 2003 11:22 EST
|
|
Love the station - you play lots of great music, so please accept this as a
constructive comment. The Drifters song I just heard - Dance With Me - is a poor re-make and
definitely NOT the version you listed as the Atlantic 45. Please, please get
the original version for your station. Your station is very good. But re-makes cheapen the sound, and (I think) don't help you accomplish 'taking the listener back to the great days of doo wop music'. Has anyone ever complained that you played the original version instead of a re-make? I rest my case.
Thanks

Ryan Brown - Cool station! Fri, 25 Apr 2003 21:43 EST

I really enjoy your station. I found it on Live365.com. I always wondered
why no one ever thought about this type of format on standard radio. Even
the so called "classic" oldies stations don't play this stuff. Keep it up,
I'm not old enough to remember parlors and diners. But this music reminds
me that those days were a special time in our country. If the best days in
our country's history are behind us, at least I can still hear the great
music.

Ed Berger - Help! Sun, 6 Apr 2003 13:30 EST

Hey Papaooo.....,
You are my favorite broadcaster and I am turning to you for help. I have emailed Live 365 ...no response. I recently installed Norton Personal Firewall on my computer. I no longer can bring up the live365 player. I get a partial player that has blank spots with the word "undefined" in several places. If you can't offer an explanation or solution perhaps you have a contact phone number for Live365. I am not able to find one.
I really miss listening to your sounds!
Thanks,
Ed Berger

Hi Ed,
Perhaps you've already viewed the faq's pages at live365.com.
There's a special section devoted to firewall settings at
http://live365.trakhelp.com Reconfiguring the listener settings could solve your problem.
If everything else fails you can try using our special built
free skins for real (one) player that have our stations embedded here.
When these problems remain I think your proxy server has
streaming audio disabled which is often the case on company
run networks. Thank you for your support.

Bob Thomas - Buy Button Tue, 1 Apr 2003 14:17 EST
|
|
I'm enjoying your net broadcast of DooWopJukeboxGold, but am scared shitless of the little "buy" icons next to song titles in the player window. If I hit one of those babies by mistake, what am I in for? A CD at $14.98 or an original 45 at up to a few thousand bucks? If it's a CD, from whom am I purchasing it? Bob T. Thanks.
|
|
Hi Bob! Thank You for listening to Doo-Wop Jukebox Gold! The buy button is a feature that Live365 puts next to each track played on their system. It will take you simply to amazon.com where you can browse through their assortment of music cd's. You only get a page where you can search for the artists and songs IF WANTED. There's no catch to it.
Because I have entered the original labels / records in my playlists-albuminfo for as far as possible, most of the time the buy button will turn up an "not found" message. Simply enter the artist name in the search box to browse their lists.
A far better way to see what albums are available in you local stores is to search at allmusic.com where you can search for the latest albums issued with the songs you like. Have fun!
