This is the best assortment of doo wops I've ever heard. I listen everyday all day at work. It makes my day. You play some good obscure doo wops. Jackie

Thanks for listening Jackie!

Are you live and do you take requests. Bob
Auburn Hills, MI

Hi there! No, I am not live, however, this is a feature at Live365.com that I might try for some fixed hours in the near future. If you have any requests then please let me know. I'm always on the lookout for Doo Wop songs that I've never heard before. Chances are though that most well known songs are already queued at my playlist. My playlist is randomized and then played from top to bottom. I can always squeeze some requests in there. Thanks for listening!

Hi, who can I talk to about the great music playd on Doo Wop Jukebox Gold. Also, is there anyway to find out who the artists are on any particular song. Thanks, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Thanks for listening to Doo-Wop Jukebox Gold!
If you are listening through a relay or third party player you might want to listen using the live365 player. This player provides you with the actual real time info on every record played. You can also use our free retro jukebox & old time radio skins if you prefer listening with Real Player.

Frederick Thompson - GREAT STUFF
Fri, 23 Aug 2002 22:42 EST

HI, JUST WANTED TO KNOW YOUR SOURCE FOR ALL THE GREAT STUFF. ALSO HOW ARE YOU PLAYING IT,REEL TO REEL ETC. AS FOR THE SOURCE I KNOW ABOUT VAL SHIVELY,RELIC RECORDS AND OF COURSE "COLLECTABLES". I'VE CLICKED ON THE "BUY" WHICH TAKES YOU TO AMAZON.COM AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE GOOD STUFF. I'VE BEEN COLLECTING FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS NOW. MY TEEN YEARS WERE THE 50'S. I'M 63 TO GIVE A POINT OF REFERENCE. THE PHASE I'M IN NOW IS THE LATE 50'S AND 60'S DOO WOP. IN FACT RIGHT NOW TRYING TO GET ALL OF THE STUDENTS, SCHOOLBOYS/DESIRES, TEENAGE TENORS IS MY TAG LINE FOR THEM. ANYWAY WILL BE WAITING FOR A REPLY. THANKS FOR THE GREAT STUFF. FREDDY THOMPSON

Hi, Nice to hear from you! I've been collecting Doo Wop records for a long time now. Growing up in the fifties, having 6 older brothers and sisters who bought these records I became very fond of Doo Wop music (and Rock & Roll in general). We always had the radio on! Needless to say hearing "Silhouettes" by the Rays and "Little Darling" by the Diamonds once again in the mid 70's brought back many fond memories and started me collecting. The 80's was the era people started to discard their records in favor of CD's so then it still was easy to find them at 2nd hand markets and garage sales. Also there were these nostalgia broadcastings on the radio which I frantically recorded.
If you click on the buy button you may need to search a little further at Amazon.com because the reference to the original label which I mostly have in my tags is not found there. Just search for Doo Wop or the group's name. If you then still can't find it try searching for the songs or albums at www.allmusic.com It's the best reference I've found for music on the web so far. At my station I first randomize my songs and then play the playlist not randomized. I try to update and re-randomize often to keep the playlist fresh. Thank you for listening to my station!

Scott Mackey - DooWop Jukebox Gold
Wed, 7 Aug 2002 18:57 EST

Good afternoon, Having grown up in the 50's and early 60's, I thought I knew from DooWop... Of the first 5 tracks I heard on your site, I was familiar with exactly zero. (In the immortal words of Rod Stewart, "...look how wrong you can be...") If I didn't love the music so much, I'd be embarrassed! Thanks for a great, great website; you have gained a loyal listener today. Best regards and best wishes for your continued success and prosperity, R. Scott Mackey

Thanks!

Virginia - Song
Mon, 15 Jul 2002 18:13 EST

Hi there, you just played a song at 4:15 p.m. my time called BABY (THERE IS NOTHING I WOULDN'T DO FOR YOU). Who sang the song and is that the correct title and where can I get it? Thank you very much, Virginia
P.S. Your station is great!!!!

Hi Virginia! The song is "Baby Oh Baby" by the Shells. It's available on the Doo Wop Box Vol 1 Disk 2 and you can review it at http://www. allmusic.com. It's also available on the Shell's album "Badder Than Bad" which is a lot more affordable. If you search at amazon.com one of the two will most certainly come up. Glad to be of help.. Keep on listening... Bye.

Dorty - WE LOVE DOO WOP!!!
Thu, 27 Jun 2002 12:44 EST

WE LOVE DOO WOP!!! I have two young girls that live with me,eleven and twelve,THEY LOVE DOO WOP TOO! So here comes another generation. How's that for getting new business for our station? Keep up the good work.
Dottie

Hi Dorty! Fun to hear about your children liking this old time Doo Wop! Most of the time kids of this age only know about Brittney Spears and The Backstreet Boys. Just don't over-expose them Ok?

Dorty - Doo Wop
Mon, 24 Jun 2002 5:50 EST

DOO WOP RULES FOREVER!!!!! I am always listening to you. How about some down south hits? EARTH ANGEL,IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT,LITTLE DARLIN,OVER THE MOUNTAIN,SIXTEEN CANDLES. Texas style. I love you and your station, don't ever quit.
Dottie

Hi Dorty! Thank you for your support! Always good to hear form listeners. The songs you refer to are already queued for playing at Doo wop Jukebox Gold. If you are talking about Doo Wop Texan style I don't really know if you are referring to some rare versions that I'm not aware of or do you mean the origin of the groups ? We recently have had some good news about the costs for royalty fees and will now be able to stay on. So we won't ever quit. In fact we will expand and add lots of new songs in the months to come. Further more we are in the process of updating our website with some content and charts of the 50's and sixties. We will inform you when it's done. Once again, Thank you. Bye
