In November 2005 the Four Tops and the Temptations gave a great performance at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. Although in partly new line-ups, the songs, slick moves and steps reminded once again of their glory days and were a treat for the Dutch fans.
Amsterdam Nov. 2005 - The Four Tops & The Temptations
Reach out! I'll be there! Well, we were there at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam and the Four Tops and the Temptations didn't let us down! Backed by a fantastic band they brought back those wonderful songs and memories. What a treat it was to see them perform those moves and steps that were so typical for the vocal groups of their era. Great showmanship by these Motown icons!

The free open air Tilburg street corner festival each year is a great success. Old time rock & roll at downtown Tilburg (Southern Holland) with all kinds of Dutch groups and artists is a two day annual happening in the Spring, people are looking forward to.
It's called "Festival van het Levenslied" - a festival of a genre of songs, mainly of the tear-jerking kind, exclusively sang in Dutch. Musically it varies from light Rock & Roll to Everly Brothers - Country style ballads. Some artists' repertoire spans 40 years of hit making and newer bands play good pop-rock to firm Rock & Roll music albeit with Dutch lyrics. It's fun, fun, fun!
Once again we went to the annual Tilburg Fair (The Netherlands). The biggest Town Center fair of Europe. Nine days of fun, spectacle, music, beer and dance that takes us back to the days of our youth.
Crazy!! We loved it so much, we went again in 2010. Some of our most vivid memories of girls, music, summer hits and sheer fun come from these fairs. Top hits would echo across the streets accompanied by horns, sirens and loud voices, as each ride owner would try to outdo his opponent. Hullabaloo, Hully Gully, Wooly Bully, Bye, Bye Love, this is racket.. and I love it!.
We went to the annual Tilburg Fair (The Netherlands). The biggest Town Center fair of Europe. Nine days of fun, spectacle, music, beer, dance, and more beer topped off with the so called "Pink Monday": The day the fair is dedicated to Gay Holland and those, straight like us, who go there simply to enjoy the total craziness, weirdness & extravaganza.
Each day from midday to midnight at the "Biertent" (beer tent) and bars on the Tilburg Fair you'll have performances of old time rock & roll groups, well known (and lesser known) DJ's & artist playing and singing a variety of contemporary & old time rock, rap, hip-hop & Doo-Wop, sweeping live radio shows and typical Dutch drinking songs. We had a lot of fun there!!
This traditional midsummer fair dates back to the 15 hundreds when peasants and farmers would celebrate midsummer and pray for a good harvest. This was followed by a big celebration. These days of fun, eating, drinking and spending attracted all kinds of traveling salesmen, card players, magicians, singers, entertainers and racketeers, and became bigger each year.
At the Nostalgic section some old time rides are still operating but big modern attractions dominate the fair nowadays (although some things never seem to change like horse back riding and gambling). Great!
Monday is the day the fair is dedicated to Gay Holland and those who go there simply to enjoy the total weirdness, craziness & extravaganza. If you want to enjoy all aspects of the Tilburg fair in full then the third day (Monday) is the day you should visit. In the evening there's also a huge open-air party to close the event.
